Born in Rome, Sandro Becchetti (1935-2013) began his work as a photographer in the late sixties. Surrounded by the stars of Cinecittà and the magic of the big screen, Becchetti developed a love for portraiture and photographed numerous personalities in the movie business, including Hitchcock and Pasolini. His work also captured the social, cultural and political changes which shaped Italy from the 1970s onwards and were published in the most important Italian newspapers and magazines, as well in Life and Libération, on the BBC and in the French press.
