Biography
Damien Boisson-Berçu is a French photographer, born in 1986 in the city of Lyon. He grew up with a passion for photography, influenced by his father, who was also a photographer. He studied photography at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, where he honed his skills in various techniques, including digital and film photography. Boisson-Berçu is known for his documentary-style approach to photography, capturing candid moments of people and places. He has a particular interest in street photography, capturing the essence of everyday life in cities around the world. His work has been exhibited in galleries and festivals throughout France, as well as internationally. In 2015, Boisson-Berçu published his first book, 'Lyon Gruissan,' a series of photographs that explores the similarities and differences between his hometown of Lyon and the coastal town of Gruissan. The book received critical acclaim and led to more opportunities for Boisson-Berçu, including collaborations with fashion brands and publications. Boisson-Berçu's work often focuses on social issues, such as migration and displacement. In 2017, he traveled to the Greek island of Lesbos to document the refugee crisis. His photographs were published in the French newspaper Le Monde and exhibited in various locations, including the European Parliament in Brussels. Boisson-Berçu continues to push the boundaries of documentary photography, exploring new techniques and subject matter. He is considered one of the rising stars of the French photography scene and is recognized for his unique perspective and ability to capture the human experience.
