Raised in Kaduna, Nigeria, Williams Chechet believes that art has the power to heal, inspire and bring people together, through art he gives back to his community, inspiring young artists in their pursuit of passion. Drawing references from the likes of Andy Warhol and Jean Michel Basquiat, Williams’ creative process is largely spontaneous. He explores the local, highlighting traditional leaders and various iconic imagery that has shaped Nigeria’s political history.
