Mario Dondero was born in Milan in 1928, He died in 2015 in Petritoli. He was a press photographer and photojournalist. He is known for his portraits of Italian writers and artists such as Pier Paolo Pasolini and Alberto Moravia, Jannis Kounellis and Alberto Burril; also of the French intelligentsia including Louis Althusser and Jean Genet.
