Biography

I am a French artist born in Grenoble in 1947. I studied History and Geography at Grenoble's University and taught at the Lycee Francais Charles De Gaulle in London. I began painting, a passion since childhood, after my father's death in 1993. My father was a French resistant during World War II and I thought then that it was time I also took some 'risks' in my life. I trained in Paris at Jeanne Marie Allen and then Jean Yves Guionet' s studios for a few years and I started exhibiting my own work in Paris in 1997. I like working on series of paintings for example, I illustrated the entire Divine Comedy by Dante - Hell, Purgatory and Paradise - 126 paintings. I also painted 'Mozart the Symphonist', 41 portraits of the musician, one for each symphony that he composed. Another series featured Wagner and people who knew him and influenced him.
