Heinen, Lee

Biography

Lee Heinen received her early education in New Jersey. She began university at Douglass, the Women’s College of Rutgers University and finished her BA (cum laude) at Ursuline College in Cleveland, Ohio. She has studied painting and drawing at the Cleveland Institute of Art and art history at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. Extensive travel, study in Maine with Wolf Kahn and several winters at the Instituto de Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico has expanded her horizon. Lee is an Archived Artist of the Western Reserve. Some awards that she has received are the Ohio Governor’s Spotlight Award 2015, an Ohio Arts Council Award for Excellence FY 2017 and in 2018 she was honored by the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve with a show “Tangible Moments: The Legacy of Lee Heinen” at Moreland Courts, Cleveland, Ohio. Collections in which she is represented include Google Inc. in Dublin, Ireland; Eaton Corporation, University Hospitals, The Federal Reserve Bank, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland State University, and Cuyahoga County Administration Building in Cleveland, OH; Summa Health, Hilton Hotel, Ronald MacDonald House in Akron, OH; BF Goodrich in Charlotte, NC; PNC Bank in Pittsburg, PA; Bank of America in Wilmington, DE; Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis, MN. Her work is also held in many private collections around the U.S. Lee has been represented by Harris Stanton Gallery and its predecessor Evelyne Schaffer Gallery for 35 years. Going forward she will be shown at art fairs, on Harris Stanton’s online gallery, Instagram and Saatchionline.com
