Biography
Born Walter Lichtenstein in Berlin, 1902, Walter Limot became the first still photographer for Germany’s cinema industry aged only twenty. Before the rise of the Nazis, Limot worked for many of the greatest German movie directors of the time including Fritz Lang and Georg Wilhelm Pabst. In 1933 he fled to Paris, conitnuing his work as a still photographer in French cinema and lensed over 120 films during his career. Limot died in Paris in 1984.
