The New-York Historical Society serves as the collective memory of New York. Since its foundation in 1804, it has accumulated a vast archive of painting, sculpture, books, manuscripts, decorative arts, architectural drawings, photographs, prints and ephemera, from masterworks of American painting to the draft wheel that played a role in one of the worst urban riots in US history. Bridgeman Images holds a growing collection from this key historical source.
