Biography
Pallant House Gallery reflects on Chichester’s unique position as the premier Arts and Heritage centre in the South and is one of England’s finest provincial galleries. It is home to a major modern art collection (c.1890-1965) and each year hosts several temporary exhibitions. Against the splendid backdrop of the faithfully restored Queen Anne town house, works by Moore, Sutherland, Piper, Klee and Cezanne are shown alongside fine antique furniture, porcelain, glass and textiles. The art history reference library contains some 9000 of the finest books on art, artists and architecture and is much sought after by students and researchers.
