Biography
Opened in 1928, after an endowment by John Williamson and his son Patrick , the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum in Birkenhead has a permanent collection of art of both local and international provenance. There are paintings relating to the region’s maritime history and the local topography, along with watercolours of Europe by the English painter William Wyld.
