René Boin (b. 1953) trained at the art academy (ABK) in Arnhem. He specializes in drawings and paintings from extremely small (drawings on watch faces) to extremely large (murals). He has had exhibitions since 1978. Charactaristic feature in his work is the distinctive use of coloured pencils in combination with paper texture, bright colours and subjects in a continuous movement. People, animals and ordinary objects are put in a unexpected context or suggest an action in the immediate future. His favourite subjects are animals, sports and means of transport, such as airplanes or sailing ships.
