Biography

Born in Denmark, award-winning photographer Sisse Brimberg has produced and photographed more than 50 stories in over 70 countries for National Geographic Magazine and National Geographic Traveler during the past 40 years. Using her unique ability to seamlessly flow between street photography and complex studio work, Brimberg is a master visual storyteller. Whether covering the Hanseatic League and the Vikings, the Global Flower Trade, or Lascaux, the prehistoric painted cave in the Dordogne, France, she captures the often overlooked and untold stories that speak to the very core of what makes us human. Brimberg has earned the first prize award from the prestigious Pictures of the Year International and received acclaim from the National Press Photographers Association, and Communication Arts. Her work continues to be exhibited worldwide, including at the prestigious Leica House in Germany, followed by a cover story at LFI Magazine.
