Born in 1993 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Ethan Caflisch embarked on his journey in ceramics at a young age. He pursued his higher education at California College of the Arts from 2011 to 2015, earning a personalized Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a minor in Visual Studies. His academic focus spanned across painting, sculpture, interior design, and film. Additionally, he participated in the Turps Banana painting program from 2020 to 2022. Caflisch's artistic endeavors have graced numerous international platforms, including the Richmond Art Center, Royal Academy of Arts, Southern Exposure, Cheryl Hazan Gallery, and ICA San Jose. He has also held artist residencies in various institutions across the United States, United Kingdom, Portugal, and Norway. Residing and creating in London, England, Caflisch, pronounced 'cuh-fleesh,' explores a diverse range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and photography, in his multifaceted body of work.
