Biography

Benoît Erwann Boucherot is a multidisciplinary visual artist born in France in 1976 and based in Montreal since 2020. After being spotted as a teenager for his drawing and painting skills, he trained in film photography while traveling: India, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia, Morocco, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Sweden, United States, Canada, Mexico. It was in Paris that he pursued higher education in cinema and became a chief editor, then a director of reports and documentaries for European television channels. Since 2001, he has exhibited his original works in Paris, Montrouge, Vichy, Nice, New York, Tokyo, Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, Montreal and Victoriaville, in collective and personal exhibitions. From 2010 to 2013, he was an author photographer at the Agence Révélateur and, from 2014 to 2020, a professor of editing at the European Institute of Journalism in Paris. Benoît Erwann Boucherot is currently studying at the École Nationale du Meuble et de l'Ébénisterie (ENME) in Montreal to learn traditional veneering techniques, architectural furniture design and numerically controlled tool programming. Studio BRW works with and for collectors, gallery owners, designers, cultural magazines, publishing houses, festivals, production companies and authors. In 2022, Benoît Erwann Boucherot received the Prix Suzor Coté for his entire pictorial proposal and his photographic work on essayists for the literary magazine Lettres québécoises was awarded the Prix d'Excellence de la SODEP. In 2023, he won the Prix Gaston Miron which highlights and promotes excellence in written French.
