Isabelle Eshraghi was born in Iran, Isfahan to a French mother and an Iranian father. She was the prize winner in 1997 of the Kodak Critics' Photographic Prize for her photographic work on Women of Isfahan; the 1999 Program 'Villa Medicis Hors les Murs/AFAA' for her photographic work on 'Being twenty in Tehran'; and the 2001 Program FIACRE for her photographic work on Iranian men.
