ISTITUTO MATTEUCCI

Biography

Founded by Giuliano Matteucci, the Matteucci Institute is the most qualified institution for the study, cataloguing and expert advice on 19th and 20th century Italian painting. Its origins are rooted in the heritage of values and knowledge achieved in its almost forty-year story. Born from the desire to bring back to light and take a census of the works of the masters living in that period and of the less known, but equally interesting, personalities, the Matteucci Institute stands out as a model of a private institution offering its services to them who expect clarity, exactness and professionalism from the world of art collecting. The Boldini-De Nittis-Zandomeneghi Archives were created with the intention of protecting and defending the work of the Italiens de Paris through the authentication and cataloguing of their production. Although Boldini, de Nittis and Zandomeneghi have been the subject of meritorious studies and rigorous investigations, the proliferation of erroneously attributed or apocryphal works is one of the reasons that made it opportune to set up a reference structure for archiving.
