NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM, LONDON
Biography
Bridgeman Art Library handles a selection from the extensive collection of historical, botanical and ornithological pictures which offers everything from blue Egyptian water lilies and breadfruit, to sunflowers, rice and oil palms by the nineteenth century naturalists such as Bauer, Aubriet and Thornton. There are also prints of prairie wolves and polar bears by Audubon, pictures of whales in Greenland and exotic, brightly coloured fish illustrations from Duperry and Renard. Access to their complete collection, the third largest of art on paper in the UK, will remain as before through their in-house library.
