Biography

Jean-Pierre Sudre (b. 27 September 1921 d. 6 September 1997) was a French commercial photographer. He was born in Paris but later moved to the South of France, where he devoted much of his time to fine art photography workshops. His work was principally concerned with still lives and figures. Sudre is best known for his experimentation with chemicals within his work. In 1952, he became the honorary president of Les 30 x 40, Club Photographique de Paris and in 1957, he was awarded the Lion d'Or at the first Biennale Internationale de la Photographie at Venice, Italy.
