MORROCCO, LEON
Biography
Leon Morrocco is a Scottish artist with Italian roots. Having studied at the Slade and the Academia Milan, he still travels between the two countries painting landscape, architecture and sea. Incidents that catch his eye: sleeping fishermen, men hurrying to and from afternoon assignations, a woman at a phone box - all are quickly sketched and form the inspiration for the paintings. Morrocco's work can be found in many notable public and private collections, including The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, H.R.H Princess Margaret, The Scottish Arts Council, Leeds Art Gallery, The Nuffield Foundation, and Queensland Art Gallery.
