Firle Place is home to the Viscounts Gage as well as ‘numerous and splendid’ pictures. Throughout the ages various collections have found their way into the possession of the Gage family and the Firle Place, and the resulting collection, contains magnificent porcelain, paintings and furniture. Particularly splendid is Sir Anthony van Dyck’s portrait of John, Count of Nassau with his family.
