Biography
Lindy Guinness, born Lindy Hamilton Temple Blackwood in 1941, is an artist, conservationist and business woman who, after marrying the fifth Marquess, became Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava. She is the daughter of John Manners, the 9th Duke of Rutland, growing up in Belvoir Castle and studied art under Oskar Kokoschka as a young girl. After her husband the Marquess passed away in 1988 and left her his family estate Clandeboye in Bangor, Co. Down, she became an active conservationist and set about transforming the estate into a thriving business. In 2009 Guinness launched Clandeboye Estate Yogurt along with a number of other enterprises including the Ava Gallery.
