Biography
The Humboldt Innovation, or HI, is the dedicated knowledge and technology transfer office of the Humboldt University Berlin. Their image collection includes many prints of scientific diagrams and illustrations; of particular note are the engravings from the 1747 ‘Tabulae sceleti et musculorum corporis humani’ by Jan Wandelaar and the diagrams of the inner workings of Wolfgang von Kempel’s ‘The Turk’, a chess-playing automaton.
