PESCHKE, VALESKA
Biography
Valeska Peschke studied cultural history and trained in metal construction before taking up her studies as an architect and artist at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, where she graduated from Rebecca Horn’s class with a Master of Fine Arts in 1997. Peschke’s approach to art is correspondingly diverse: She expertly applies various media, creates expansive three-dimensional works, and realizes interventions in public space. The theme underpinning her work is her interest in questions of identity and its construction⎯questions that need to be posed time and again in the face of growing mobility and urbanization.
